EBH Namibia is a highly successful smart partnership between the Namibian government and the private sector and provides the international shipping and local industry with a full house capacity in all aspects of ship repair. In 2006, NAMPORT, Namibia’s National Port Authority and EBH Namibia jointly undertook a significant step in increasing Namibia’s capacity in the ship repair industry by entering into a Joint Venture with the aim to intensify ship repair activities that would ultimately boost job creation and economic development of Walvis Bay and surrounding communities. As the majority shareholder (52.5%) in EBH Namibia, NAMPORT remains in line with our Mission to contribute to the success of our customers through continuous development of our capacities, technical competencies and a motivated workplace.

In a strategic move which has been in the pipe line since 2011, DCD Group successfully acquired 47.5 % shares in EBH Namibia early in 2013. The rationale behind the acquisition is to leverage EBH’s strong brand and DCD’s established marine track record to boost global competitiveness. DCD has acquired shares in a company that is already well positioned and will benefit greatly from our world class marine repair facilities and service acumen. Ultimately a synergy between our two companies will be created that will result in greater profitability. Our clients will benefit from our increased market share and will be in a better position of gaining competitive pricing linked to superior service.
