Hamek is one of Northern-Norway’s largest reparation and maintenance shipyards for the maritime industry. The facilities for “minor vessels” are located in Samasjøen, whilst the facilities for “larger vessels” are located in the centre of the city. In the centre of the city, we built Norway’s third largest dry dock, after we expanded it to 145x27x9.5m in April, 2015.

Including our sub-contractors for the maritime industry, there are 260 employees in Harstad who fulfill each other in a unique way. In addition to this, the centre of the city of Harstad offers plenty of other facilities and services, like: Hotels, restaurants, a culture hall, a cinema, a waterpark, training centers, pharmacies, and so forth. The DNV-GL (Classification society, and the Norwegian maritime authority) also have offices located in the city of Harstad.

Hamek has ca. 100 employees as of today, but depending on the scale of the assignment, an additional temporary workforce will be hired. When desired, the company will also mobilise to be able to work around the clock.
Our services are Achilles-approved in relation to the offshore sector, and we are also approved as an apprentice company by NHO. We are additionally certified in accordance to ISO9001, the 2008 standard. Hamek also possesses a collection of facilities for flush water.
