Western Shiprepair is a daughter-company of the Western Shipyard, meaning also that it belongs to the Estonian concern BLRT Grupp. 

The company was established in 2003, after the reorganization of the Western Shiprepair Yard, which originally began in 1966. This company has a long history and has accumulated a large experience in ship repair, conversion and modernization business. 

Western Shiprepair (Lithuania, Klaipeda) is one of the largest ship repair companies in the Baltic region. The company, due to owning modern equipment, can render services on a 24/7 basis and has a wide range of expertise in various fields such as: conversion, new construction, painting, blasting, steel renewal, engine overhaul and boiler repair. Along with having the advantage of an ice-free port, the modern ship repair company owns 5 floating docks with a lifting capacity of 4500 to 27 000 tons. It also has 10 pier cranes, floating and mobile cranes, lifting platform, more than 900 metres of quays, tugboat, etc.

Our company has a professional team of project managers and marketing specialists. We continuously collaborate, working with our subcontractors, who provide the service of hull and pipeline construction, as well as working with widely known marine companies such as Wartsila, Premator and MacGregor.

Technological solutions are carried out by more than 70 professional engineers, while ship agents’ services and equipment supply are issued by partners such as JSC Western Ships Agency and JSC Elmelit. 

Western Shiprepair can provide a full range of service necessary for professional and high-quality ship repair work. Our company has high requirements for work safety and industrial culture and all work carried out is in accordance with the IACS requirements. The company is certified with quality management system ISO 9001, environment protection management system ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and risk assessment program (grade C) – JH143. 

Western Shiprepair makes continuous investments into improving the infrastructure and superstructure of the company. At present, we invest in cleaning floating dock pits and the compression of quays and by 2013 we expect to receive Panamax type vessels.
